


COL Artur "Art" Loureiro
Art Loureiro was commissioned in 1989 as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry out of the University of Connecticut’s Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). He has served in numerous infantry units to include the 25th Infantry Division (Light), and the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT). Loureiro has also served in numerous broadening assignments that include Foreign Area Officer, US Embassy Rome, Italy; Director of Strategy and Policy, United States War College; Director of Plans, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM); and, Director of Plans, US Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC). Loureiro retired in 2015 after 29 years of service at the rank of Colonel.
Loureiro deployed in numerous operational and combat tours. He participated in Operation Uphold Democracy peacekeeping mission to Haiti, Hurricane Iniki Humanitarian Assistance (Kuai, HI); Counterdrug Support to Joint Task Force-North; Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan); and, Operation Irai Freedom (Iraq).
Upon his retirement, Loureiro transitioned into the Space and Missile Defense Industry where he has held numerous leadership roles. Loureiro is currently the Director of Space Defense Solutions for L3 Harris Technologies where he leads a diverse staff of Program Managers, Aerospace Engineers, and Business Development staff.
